This course will show you how you can decrease your worry and stress just by rearranging your home to make it safer for baby. Babyproofing is more than covering outlets and putting up fences. What do bookshelves and blinds have in common when it comes to toddler safety? Why not create a beautiful, simple and safe home decor that allows your little one to explore and play without constant reprimands? Why not set up safe play areas that do not require supervision? Find out which toys are approrpriate and how to keep older children's toys away from their younger siblings. Montessori is a 100 year old educational traditon that can be adapted to home use and will decrease clutter and make picking up a breeze. This workshop will be full of practical and inexpensive tips to make your home safe and happy for all ages.
Vicki Wolfrum, CNM, IBCLC has been a certified nurse midwife, a childbirth and parenting educator, and a board certified lactation consultant for the last 30 years. She is the owner of Whole Life Home Care in Del Mar, the first holistic homecare agency in San Diego that provides care for all ages and all stages. Her agency provides doulas, sick day child care, nannies and lactation visits in the home. She founded a holistic midwifery and menopause center in Los Angeles and started the nurse-midwifery program at Palomar Medical Center. She spent the last 10 years at Scripps Encinitas Hospital as a midwife and lactation consultant. She is a popular speaker and has presented at many midwifery, parenting, and lactation conferences. She is on the board of Directors at the Santa Fe Montessori School in Solana Beach, and has incorporated this method into her mothering. She is the mother of five, and grandmother of nine.
